HISTORY

  • March 1962
    Commenced business operations as a sole proprietor by building Kajihara Iron Works at 1-22-13, Ohasuhigashi, Higashiosaka.
  • June 1971
    The name of the iron works was changed to Maruni Steel Manufacturing at the same location.
  • April 1977
    Maruni Steel Manufacturing Co., Ltd . was established with capital of 5 million yen.
  • September 1979
    The company was relocated to 2-1-1, Kusune-cho, Yao upon completion of a head office factory.
  • January 1986
    The sales department was split off and established as Otsu Co., Ltd. with capital of 5 million yen.
  • September 1996
    Otsu Co., Ltd. increased its capital to 10 million yen.
  • July 1998
    Yasuko Kajihara was appointed representative director of Otsu Co., Ltd. and Maruni Steel Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
  • April 2007
    A new office was established at the same location.
  • March 2011
    Received the Regional Monozukuri Spirit Excellent Company Award (Osaka) from the Osaka SME Awards Committee.
  • April 2011
    A new brand name, “QUON”, was introduced.
  • February 2012
    Hirotaka Kajihara was appointed representative director of Otsu Co., Ltd. and Maruni Steel Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
  • July 2013
    Otsu Co., Ltd. and Maruni Steel Manufacturing Co., Ltd. merged into one company (Otsu Co., Ltd.) with capital of 20 million yen.
  • September 2013
    The new warehouse was relocated to Yao.
  • November 2013
    A showroom, QUON TOKYO, was opened in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
  • July 2018
    A showroom, QUON OSAKA, was opened within the head office.
  • September 2019
    Joined the Japan Office Institutional Furniture Association, an incorporated association.
  • October 2020
    Selected as a “Company Driving Regional Growth” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), JAPAN
  • December 2021
    Selected as Waverly Small and Medium-sized Companies 300.
